[LMB] Science fiction dying out?

Louane and Katrina,

Your comments give me encouragement with your good reasoning.

I can't, personally, imagine SF going away or dying out. It keeps renewing
itself.

In truth, the Golden Age and the next 50 years did have a huge burst of
imagination and new stuff. I rarely watch SF movies or TV because it seems
like old, retread material to me.

I'm hopeful that the e-book developments and On Demand Printing will also
keep the best of the old books available or make them available again.

I've given thought to scanning a couple of my favorite old books for the
Gutenberg Project but, while they may be orphans, I don't know their
copyright status and they aren't old enough to be guaranteed
out-of-copyright.

I think I'll be getting an e-book reader for my Christmas present this year.
They've finally gotten good enough, I think, to justify the plunge.

Ed
