[LMB] Bookstores may be doomed?

It is. And yet...Amazon discounts things, and you get free
shipping for anything over $25.  So it becomes an economic
issue--particularly with writers I want to buy new and in
hardback to support them, instead of used or remaindered.

The free shipping is the killer--otherwise shipping would kill
the discount factor.  And on top of that, I can often get new
books even cheaper on eBay--new books--but still go to Amazon
because the eBay shipping equalises the price, and Amazon never
flakes out on me.
