The first one is very good. The second and third ones got progressively
sillier. I gave up after the third one.
She's another one who actually wrote better books under the constraints of
the category romance lines, IMHO. She didn't have as much room to get
carried away with herself.
You've read Julia Quinn, right, Lois? How about Loretta Chase? Her humor
is subtle, but pervasive. And laugh out loud funny in places. Start with
Lord of Scoundrels, which is being reprinted soon. Oh, and you might like
Pamela Morsi. She writes turn-of-the-last-century Americana (a rare thing
to find in romance) that doesn't take itself too seriously.
