[LMB] Science fiction dying out?

These things go in cycles, and right now fantasy is up and SF is
down... I wonder whether this parallels the opinion I get in
general society that science itself is somehow suspect. As we
get more of a rise in belief in the paranormal (in all it's
aspects), fantasy (which plays into this belief) becomes more
popular. Right now, it's hard to find a high school biology
program that emphasizes evolution, which seems to be being
attacked on every hand. (I know- I've got two high school
students, and the dumbed-down stuff they're getting in their
science and biology classes makes me cringe.)
