The origin of the Tixie (and the other ListCritters) can be found here:
http://www.dendarii.com/bujold_lst.html#creatures

The original Tixie (was it Kay Carrasco, or Joyce Snyder?) worked solo. Some
years back, Kay was serving as Tixie, and found herself having less and less
time for it; she recruited several people, including me, to help out, thus
creating the Tixie Corps. At length, snowed under by the increasing demands of
her job, she withdrew altogether, and somehow the position of [Acting] Chief
Birthday Tixie fell to me. (I retain the forlorn hope that the real Chief
Birthday Tixie will someday return, which is why I use the "Acting" label....)

Will do, soon's I get home.
