Well... maybe. There may still be one or two who don't know what
GoDaddy is, anyway.

Ahhh. I am not too familiar with the ins and outs. I am more of a
reader than a writer. The friends lists can be emulated on a private
blog---with a lot of work and a database server. The linked blogs, I
wasn't really aware of. Of course, everything that can be done on LJ
can be done elsewhere. But that would be reinventing the wheel. I do
understand that LJ is powerful and convenient, and *already set up and
running*. So, if you'd rather write fanfic than code, I supposed you'd
be a bit unlikely to want to shift.
It's just those darned _Russians_. I don't trust them. Maybe it's just
me, and I am being paranoid.
