Don't go; I thought your post was relevant and thoughtful.  I just 
wanted to warn about the possible direction the conversation might be 
taking.  If I were a major LJ user with a life membership, I would be a 
little nervous right now, no question.

I seldom post on on-topic posts; I usually overlook some important 
detail when I do, and someone invariably and inevitably calls me on it.

Off-topic posts are safer---people don't usually care enough to correct 
me when I am wrong.  :)  Which is often.  Factually, I mean.  I am a 
typical OT poster when it comes to opinions:  I believe my opinion to be 
correct, even when I can't articulate very well my reasons for holding 
it.  Just like everyone else.   :)
