As summed up well by a one-liner - "Clear Channel is the reason you can
drive from New England to southern California without ever hearing anything
on the radio except ads and the same 14 songs over and over."

They are a media owner that owns tons of radio stations and plays (censored
versions of) songs that poll well at a certain demographic.  Among other
things, I beleive they're the one that reacted to the Dixie Chicks'
anti-Bush statements by immediately refusing to allow any of their stations
to play any D.C. song ever again . . . .
