The idea of being able to watch your weather patterns sweep across a
continent is what seems weird to me.

We get snow on the Rimutakas in winter, although not usually in Wellington
city and last year it snowed in Christchurch city and my brother got the day
off uni because of it.

But while our metservice does a pretty good job, you simply can't accurately
predict weather accurately a week or more in advance. They're doing well to
get five accurate days in advance.

Can't imagine it being the same temperature all day either. There's an
adage for Wellingtonians - you can always tell a Wellingtonian in the summer
because they're carrying their coat. Because if you don't have it, you will
need it.

Katrina - off to Tauranga tomorrow which is not windy but will be warm and
sunny and hopefully hasn't packed too many warm clothes like every other
time
