P. D. Eastman (it's a Dr. Seuss book, and Eastman was one of their stable) 
wrote Are You My Mother?

I have vivid memories of my mother reading this to me when I was very small.
She did all the voices (the only time I ever remember her doing
voices).  She did a particularly memorable, "Snort!" said the Snort.
