The old fashioned ones my mom used were better than the modern kind
filled with polyester or some such.  High end, good quality all cotton
diapers (such as are used by diaper services) are still available, but
you won't find them at your local discount store.

And they do make splendid rags.  Even the crappy kind make reasonable
rags.
