How terrible! I'm so sorry to hear this; I hope your
cat is just scared and comes back soon. If your
collection included fiction, I'm sure we on the list
could help with almost any category. Not sure about
technical/specialty books, but you never know! Perhaps
this isn't the best time logistically, but when you're
at a point where you can get packages and have a place
to put things, let us know your favorite authors and
I'll bet we can at least get you replacement copies of
your comfort books. I have multiple copies of many
books by my favorite authors, I'd be happy to send
them to you if our tastes overlap. 

If you don't want to post a p.o. box or address
publicly, email me off list.

Perhaps there's other things you need more immediately
- you could post a list of desperately needed stuff.
