Oh good, that's how I read it too. Cuz, to be frank, I accuse people's
sites of being ugly, even butt-ugly, all the time (specially if they're
artists and ought to know better) but would never dream of
characterizing any *person* as being butt-ugly (except, perhaps, in
cases of particularly heinous behavior). That said, I understand it can
be hard to turn defaults in stuff like yahoo off. (Unlike some other
posters I *detest* yahoo mailing lists, and am *so* glad this isn't
one.)
The weird thing is that butts, human ones anyway, are rather attractive
portions of anatomy. I suppose it's a standin for a particular portion
of one's rear end that tends to be associated with unpleasantness.
And I second the requests for ascii formatting---hoping to go back to my
beloved xemacs for mail soon, and it doesn't do well with html. But it
has so many other, more useful features, that I'm happy to do without
the html fanciness (which for some reason seems to be *deliberately*
employed most by folks who insist on using that `functionality' to make
butt-ugly email...;)
