Hee hee!  Yeah, I tell my husband the only reason I want him  is his brains.

I can see that she might like organizing him if she's the  bossy type.
I suppose I am completely not that type and having to organize  an
"equal partner" would drive me crazy.

But I don't see that brains  vs. military nut is necessarily the issue.
Surely there's some variety on  Barrayar and galactically that she
might run into?

I don't recall any textev that Enrique wasn't at  least reasonably 
attractive.  But brains are certainly a  necessity for any relationship.  The additional 
fact that he saw women as  equals might have been enough to tip the scales in 
his favor.
 
As for other types on Barrayar--Martya wasn't Vor, so she wouldn't be  
limited to Vor men.  She could have found an industrialist, a doctor, or  someone in 
almost any field.  But would most Barrayaran men have been  willing to let 
her run things?
 
BTW, Tora, your husband doesn't believe you, does he?  <g>   I mean, I've 
seen his picture-- Sean didn't get _all_ his good looks from  you!
