My guess in this case is that Countess Vorbretten was having s*x with the
Count and at least one Cetagandan, and had no idea who had gotten her
pregnant.  So long as a half-Cetagandan baby wouldn't look that different
from a fully-Barrayaran one, there was no reason to abort.

And from the speculation in ACC, Countess Vorbretten may well have *wanted*
her half-Cetagandan baby, if her liasion with the Cetagandans was as
voluntary as it seemed.
