Carpe Diem, "Vandar / Hellin's Surcease", ie just before Miri find a place
for Val Con to do L'apeleka.

And in _I Dare_ we see Commander Higdon of Higdon's Howlers executing that
protocol. I guess that mercenaries under contract to Liadens would learn to
keep to the ways of the Code, which doubtless forbids indiscrimate
violence. Same for 'finesse' for the assassin's guild in Cherryh's
'Foreigner' universe.
