When my youngest daughter was in her early teens, I realized she was
bleaching her hair. Her explanation to me was that she'd had beautiful
blonde hair as a child, but it was starting to darken, so she was just
putting it back to what it was supposed to be.
I'll tell you what --- her answer made so much sense to me I had to chuclke
and let her go on doing it. And both of her children (aged 6 and 2
respectively) are radiant natural blonds.
My hair has always been a very dark ash brown, but back in the mid-nineties
started to turn silver strand by strand. The effect is actually quite
pretty.
