There are always alterations.  You can't make something bigger very  easily, 
but you can buy something that fits the biggest part of you, and take  the 
rest of it up (or have it done) to fit.  I got very used to doing that  in my 
younger days--and to making a lot of my own clothes.  I had the added  problem of 
being too tall for average clothes, and not quite tall enough for  talls, 
which meant that by the time I did all the necessary alterations, it was  usually 
easier to start from scratch.
