Seriously - thanks for responding so quickly.  I had flashbacks of
Washington Post.  I admit, Amazon is asking for it, but your reminders
of alternatives are much more attractive.

Were it not for the very high probability that the man has forgotten all 
about it (not to mention retired), I would suspect the WP book editor 
still thinks I orchestrated that.  He certainly did at the time.

It was a usefully instructive professional embarrassment, however.  It 
taught me that even if something seems trivial and fannish and harmless, 
not to let it pass by even if I'm having a book deadline/holidays/viral 
flu/all three at once, because it can come back around to bite.  It was 
as well to learn that lesson on a minor matter.
