Birthday Tixie lightly taps foot. "Ok, fine. Look, it's not like you haven't 
wished Happy Birthday to an inferior species before. And I really do _not_ 
think a hairball would be appreciated as a present."

"Cats rule. Dogs drool."

"Do I need to remind you of what usually happens to my glasses whenever 
you're on top of my shoulder?"

Silence.

"Do I need to remind you that I'm still the one who opens the canned cat 
food in this house?"

More silence.

"Do I need to hold _all_ your stuffed mice hostage?"

Sudden purr.

"I take it you've decided to cooperate?"

More purring, followed by a leg rub.

"Ok. That's more like it." Birthday Tixie _and_ Faithful Companion face the 
assembled listies and wish Heather, one of Priscilla Allen's dogs, a Happy 
Birthday. Yay!

Birthday Tixie looks at list.

"Hey! It's Kalina Varbanova's birthday, too! Hurrah! And may you have a 
wonderful birthday with lots of fun, lots of food, lots of books, and lots 
of friends. Including us!"

Throws _virtual_ glitter. (I never saw a veterinarian look quite so pale 
before going through a catbox after the inadvertent use of the real kind 
around Faithful Companion. You'd think the glycol from the pickup would be 
enough, but noooo...)

Anyway, we both hope you have a great time!

"Ok, Faithful Companion, you get some extra little pieces of Tillamook Extra 
Cheese tonight...you were pretty good, after all."

Birthday Tixie adjourns to the kitchen, followed along ahead by Faithful 
Companion.
