Seconding Richard Scarry, although they might be for a child slightly
older. I can't really remember ever being read to as a child, although,
knowing my parents, I was. Probably because I was determined to read on my
own.  I think I stopped reading Richard Scarry when I was about seven or so;
there's just so much on a page to point to. Not a board book, however.

_The Very Hungry Caterpillar_ by Eric Carle. If my immediate family and I
ever give books to families with young children, it tends to be this one.
He's written other books, but this one is the best known, and is very good.
Amazon says it's been translated in to 20 languages, so you might find it in
yours. I have no idea what the 20 languages are. Available as a board book
(also according to Amazon).

I hope you both enjoy exploring the different suggestions people have
offered.

I have CDO. It's like Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, only in alphabetical
order as it should be.

Prayer, he suspected as he hoisted himself up and turned for the door, was
putting one foot in front of the other. Moving all the same.
