[LMB] OT: question about Baen book dowloads

I have the same problem when I download baen ebooks to my palm. What I do is
download the rtf version (rich text format) and open in MS Word. I then save
it to txt (plain txt) and substitute characters (because the special open
and close quotations, etc mess up in e-reader) and then I use the program
Dropbook from the ereader people to convert them into what I read on my palm
(pdb files).

I almost always get a readable copy that way.
