Albuquerque was named after a different duke of Alburquerque.
Beltrán was the first duke; the city was named after Francisco
Fernández de la Cueva, 8th Duke of Alburquerque and viceroy of
New Spain from 1668 to 1670. Feeling better now?

Note the spelling difference. The first R in the city name was
dropped some time in the 19th century.
