Yes, but there's something in one of the later books, round about "Mirror 
Dance" or "Memory" I think, where Miles implicitly admits that he chose 
Elli's new face, and explicitly apologises for the hassle he inadvertently 
caused her by making her so perfectly beautiful.  And she says something 
about him being the only person who never saw any difference between her old 
face and her new one, and thus never treated her any differently.
