won't come this year because it's been MONTHS since the last snow
fall.  And then making the same mistake the year after that.

If everyone you've ever met until you are twenty knows that the reason
for living is to kill malices, and then you maybe go on a few patrols
as an adolescent where you maybe see some Farmers, and maybe they
insult you or try to cheat you or try to have sex with you because you
are so exotic (and you oblige for the same reason, only to realize
that they are blind all-over!), and you remember the story about your
uncle killing a malice right over there, and your pillow partner tells
you she knows that your people are just making up the whole boggle
threat so people avoid your hunting land, and then you stop patrolling
and never meet another Farmer but hear gripes about how they won't
even patch a saddle without whining, and you keel over from the length
of this sentence,  you probably will not have a high opinion of
Farmers in general.

This is not a small communication problem that Dar and Fawn will solve
by putting on a travelling puppet show for Markets and council
meetings.  And they have to solve it while keeping Lakewalkers very
focused on malice killing, even while it remains a sometimes-thing for
Farmers.
