there is a page, or paragraph of text i have to type. i always thought it
went straight from eyeballs to fingers, but apparently i am actually reading
it to myself and typing the sounds i 'hear' instead of what i am reading.
so 'pregnancy' would be typed 'precnancy'.

speech therapists could explain to you* how people prounounce letters
differently depending on what other sounds are before and after it.
apparently by brain makes the same chagne whether i am speaking or not **
and sends the /changed/ sound to my fingers instead of hte original
spelling.

regional pronunciations, which took up most of this (surpisingly long)
thread, are a different but related topic.

* one tried to explain it to me. then her friend got in on the act. i
ended up pretty confused about how the whole thing works

** i don't speak while reading anymore :)
