Do you have any formatting in the document that you are enamored of?
You could always do a control-A (edit, select all), and format everything to Normal in the Style Dropdown. This is a bit drastic, and might not be desirable if you have many bold and italic phrases (etc.) peppering your document, but it would get rid of the line!
Otherwise, do a select all and go to borders and choose the no borders option, which will remove borders throughout the document.
