i agree with that. its interesting that dag says he's leaving when the vote
to throw him out is tied. he doen't know if fawn will be allowed to stay at
all, and if he'll be there on suffrance at this point.
he isn't so much saying 'you can't fire me i quit' as 'there's something we
need to know aobut, and we as a group don't have time to look. i as an
individual (or a pair) am taking the time to look, so you don't have to
throw me out in such a rush.'
which also involves one of my favorite lines: tent bluefield asks
questions. we may not get answers, but we sure do ask a lot of questions!

dar is going to have to listen to cumbria for the rest of his life. for the
rest of a vey long life, and she's going to make it seem longer yet.
personally i took everything out of his mouth as coming from her brain.
didn't he consult with her towards the end when things took an unexpected
turn, and didn't follow the script?
Cumbia's son would would have been a lot better off to have followed custom
and settled into his wife's family's tent. would she have followed? i
doubt it. would he have mentally started healing from her bitterness if
there was a lot of ground :) between them?
