obPratchett: (thief of time) if a Hero, running a race with time, intent on
saving hte world, turns back to help his sidekick, he will lose the race,
run out of time, and not save the world. the friend who he saved from pain
or death is ---going to die anyhow---.
whereas, if Hero ignores friend's pain, wins the race against time, saves
the world, races back, and finds his friend dead - then he is an insensitive
dratsab, an unloving oaf, and no one hsould be his sidekick anymore!
it depends on where you focus.
ziviya, seriously in love with Susan Death
