no potter around here, just bar-b-que. i suspect next month someone will be
off in a corner at the bbq, hunched over hte big fat book, with someone else
hanging over her shoulder... (don't turn the page yet! i'm not done!
hey, its my book. get your own!)

i myself won't be reading it until my sister finishes her pre-ordered copy,
and then i think three more ppl pre-borrowed it... considering hte last one,
i'm not in a hurry anyhow, but htanks for keeping spoilers away.

in the tradition of throw-everything-on-the grill in the summer...

some of my relatives met a jalapeno pepper[1] for the first time. here are
some things we discovered.

its a bad idea to take out your contact lenses after eating hot peppers,
even if you've washed your hands.

if the pepper is too hot, water just spreads the chemical heat around your
tounge.
bread works better.
-unless- you have forgotten to wipe the pepper juices off your fingers [2]
before picking up the bread, in which case the bread will have streaks of
pepper juice on it and not help at all.

jalapeno is a mexican pepper, so the /j/ is pronounced /h/. my pun-making
eight yr old decided that if you can change one letter, you can change two,
and offered halloween-o peppers to all and sundry.

don't touch the baby's toys for a while after you've washed your hands.
baby doesn't like jalapeno-flavored toys.

anyone else have amusing food stories? [3]
