Tora - my parents and their contemporaries had a saying "Handsome is as 
handsome does." And there's the old, old gag line about beauty, "Most people 
can see better than they can think."

For what that's worth. I'd say if you praise him for doing the things you 
value, or showing the character traits you value, and in terms of concrete 
achievements, he'll come out all right.
