Ginmar makes a lot of good points and I used to have her friended
but she's ultimately kind of b at tshit, imnsho. Whether she has
been driven this way by trolls (entirely possible) or was that
way before, I don't know, but she once wrote an entire screed
about how it was a bad thing that doctors had discovered how to
induce the female orgasm by electric spinal nerve stimulation
because the reason women don't have orgasms is that men don't
listen to them and that now women's orgasms would be under male
control.

Then she banned all the male posters who said they had good
relationships with their wives, who were variously on
antidepressants or who had pudendal nerve damage from
childbirth/abdominal or pelvic surgery, and that they and their
wives were hopeful about this. She banned ME for interceding on
a friend's behalf and mentioning that I too have problems of this
nature sometimes, which are certainly not caused by my Hitachi
magic wand not listening.

That was when I washed my hands of Ginmar. There are a lot of
trolls in the world, but not everyone Ginmar thinks is a troll
actually is one. And you know, I'm well renowned for making free
with the banhammer on LJ. It's not like I blame her for that.
It's just you actually have to disagree RUDELY with me to get me
to use it.

I feel about Ginmar much the way I feel about other really
unpleasant people who espouse opinions with which I generally but
not always agree: "Please stop making my side of things look
stupid (or mean, or intolerant)..."

I would certainly not recommend her to a guy who was just getting
started with feminism. She'd eat him alive and he'd leave with
all his bad opinions reinforced.
