I really wonder why they weren't aborted.  It seems a curious
expenditure of resources in a post-war rebuilding type situation.
I certainly wouldn't want to carry a fetus or raise the resulting
baby that had been conceived that way and I simply wouldn't.  I
am glad their unhappy egg-donors did not have to, and that their
culture did not force them to.  I cannot think that many of their
sperm donors made brilliant parents either.  How unfortunate all
around.  :/

The whole thing strikes me as smelling of "children as punishment
for sex" and in this case rape.  Which I have always found kind
of a repugnant attitude, mostly because I wouldn't want to BE
someone's punishment, thanks.
