I am of the opinion that if I pay $X00000 for a place I have the
right to paint it pink if I want to. I would never live in a
place like that--I got horribly lost in one of those places
trying to find the house I'd been staying in with my boyfriend
for several days (it was his parents' house) because the streets
and houses were all so similar that if you didn't live there you
couldn't tell them apart. That's never happened to me before--in
most environments I can get a mental map of the place going
within a day or two, and by most environments I mean up to and
including Daytona Beach and the Ikebukuro district of Tokyo.
