So...

My mail bemusement for today was the arrival via my agent of my
author's copies of _The Warrior's Apprentice_ -- in Korean.
Happyreading Books is the name of the publisher; it's a 2007 trade
paperback with a tasteful dust jacket and some quite nice production
values. Pretty cool. I don't think I could have even imagined such a
translation back in 1984 when I was actually writing the book.

The pages go from right to left like Western texts, and the print
runs horizontally; it looks as if it's read right to left as well. A
very pretty typography. It seems to have footnotes: among the terms
explained are sword stick, morningstar, waldo, Armsman, Surleau, and
some few others for which no English word is included.

Also on the dust jacket is what I recognize as an old convention
photo of me from the late 1980s. Just a leetle out of date... Such
things happen; the one the French were using, while extremely
flattering, is nearly 25 years old. If any French fans meet me in
person, I expect they will be taken aback.

Do we have any Korean listees?

    Ta, L.
