Given these limitations and stipulations, I *strongly*
suggest the original novel version of Borders of
Infinity (the one with the three short stories with
the linking story).  The short stories will ensure
there's something to appeal to all tastes, and it's
not so SF that it'll push the anti-SF buttons, whilst
at the same time being undeniably futuristic.
