And that was late last night and I got the panels conflated ... we met 
at the next panel, on linguistics, which indeed included Shirley, but 
not Lara or Cory; rather, the other panelists included James Allen 
Gardner, Tony Pi, and moderator Karin Lowachee. Great discussion of 
forming alien names, the varieties of colour-naming conventions and how 
to write down a foreign language to make it alien-looking but 
pronounceable. (I have finally heard the name of "Shkai'ra mek Kermak's 
kin" pronounced correctly! I'm afraid I'm never going to be able to 
reproduce the !Kung-style click represented by the apostrophe accurately 
two times running. But I still love six-foot blonde barbarian lesbian 
swordspersons, doesn't everybody?)
