Since at least book 3 does follow Fawn and Dag (YAAAAAAAAAY for that
news! I was quite disappointed at the end of Legacy, thinking that
the next book had different protagonists), I approve highly of
including The Sharing Knife as the overall series marker. Plotwise,
the sharing knife itself might not be of as much importance anymore,
however, it is very useful as an indicator for the general book-buying
public.
However, I share the general discontent with Grace River as a title.
The Wide Green World, I quite like, though it doesn't quite fit in
with the one word titles of Beguilement and Legacy. I'd put my vote
with more one word titles, as I like it when titles match nicely.
However, such titles are difficult to originate when one hasn't read
the books yet!
Suggestions for book 3:
The Sharing Knife: Quest
The Sharing Knife: Journey
The Sharing Knife: Discovery
The Sharing Knife: Voyage
The Sharing Knife: Pilgrimage
The Sharing Knife: Wanderings
The Sharing Knife: Wanderers
And book 4, since I have very little idea what it might be about,
something more about what they've found, perhaps?
I'm making the suggestions for book 3, only because I feel silly about
saying that I think it should have a 1 word title without offering
examples. However, my suggestions all sound quite silly to me. None
of them are on par with Beguilement and Legacy, but I don't think I
know enough to suggest something that appropriate!
I'm quite okay with not having a one word title too, but since no one
else had mentioned the possibility, I thought I'd throw it out. I
don't have any ideas for longer titles for book 3, but I'll think
about it some more.
