I've actually wondered if it will be good or bad for my sales to
have copies of _Legacy_lingering in stores when the mad Potter frenzy
stampedes in and out. On the whole, I suspect good, if I can get the
stores to pay my stock any attention at all.

Do you have any cards for this one? I for one would be willing to make a
run to the B&N and put a handful of them on the HP display-- If not,
would I be
offending anyone's copyrights, etc., if I made a lot of bookmark sized
flyers and put them out on the HP table?

*** I suspect that would be going a bit too far. Any bookstore
employees or ex-employees in the List will doubtless chime in, but I
suspect it would be regarded as annoying littering by the people who
would be stuck cleaning it up and throwing it away.

No cute little cards for this one, or at least none I've been sent yet.
The paperback of _Beguilement_ may be filling that niche, with its
teaser sample in the back and what-not.

Bookmarks have never once sold me a book (anyone else?), so I am
uncertain of their actual utility. I think they may be one of those
false promotional gimmicks, that make one think one is actually doing
something when one isn't. I'm trying to identify the stuff that has
high pay-off for least effort -- such as posted reviews -- and avoid
the wheel-spinning ones. All help gratefully accepted in figuring out
which is which, though.

Ta, L.
