Incidentally, so does Sting, who wrote it.

It *is* a very lovely melody.  What I think is the
most disturbing aspect of the lyrics is that actually,
on first hearing, they sound like an intense
profession of love, like most other love songs.  It's
only when you actually *think* about what you're
listening to that you understand *what* you're
hearing.  Plus, it is written from the stalker's POV,
and that's something Sting got that a lot of people
don't, that to the stalker he's not actually doing
anything wrong.

If you don't listen hard to the lyrics, it really is
easy to mistake "Every Breath You Take" for a
beautiful love song.
