Hear, hear!

SAE measurements actually make more sense for some things.  32nds of an
inch are better than millimeters for measuring, e.g., nuts and bolts,
Fahrenheit is better than Celsius for measuring body temperature and air
temperature, I could go on for quite some time with other examples.  The
best system of measurements, is not the "metric" system*  but the system
that best does the job that needs doing at the moment.

*A misnomer, all systems are metric systems by definition---to meter
something is to measure it.  Naming the meter a "meter" seems logical,
but is a bit unimaginative.  It's like naming the yard a measure, and
calling the English system the "measurement system."
