self defense is a good thing.  its not always physically possible, though

if i had a projectile weapon - my favorite is the lead lump that jumps out 
of a box when you swing it hard [1] - the safest place to be would be where 
i'm aiming.  i tend to see things half an inch to two inches to the right of 
where they are :(

my knee going out last summer doesn't help my case either.

my dad, who got his black belt eight years ago, always advised his 
children - male and female - that the best defense is knowing the 
four-minute-mile down pat.
