to read - because I find myself reading your sig every time, rather
than skipping over it.
I would have be less of a problem with your posts, if there was only
one or two things wrong, but it is the combination of all three at
the same time that rubs me the wrong way.
(1) The lack of any demarcation that this is a sig. Either the
standard "-- " or something else could be added manually to the sig
text if your software doesn't insert it automatically.
(2) Its placement in the middle rather than at the end of the post,
because you are top posting. When top posting, the quoted text should
still come before your sig.
(3) Your posts actually have TWO sigs - the one that we are
complaining about, and another that is being added at the end (I
presume) by Yahoo.
The automatic Yahoo sig in your posts seems to include BOTH an
advertising message, and a proper sig marked with "-- " which is the
name of this list and the URL.
Might you have something set wrong in your Yahoo configuration that
is inserting a 'proper' sig containing the name of the list ?
eg: The ending sig from one of your recent posts.

If you put your sig at the end of your post, it would be continuous
with the Yahoo one and IMHO not be annoying.
Concerning, Top Posting, the usual standard practice on this list is
to bottom post.
Personally I am active on other lists where top posting is standard,
so it doesn't bother me as a matter of religious dogma, but it is
polite to conform to the conventions of the community here.
Failure to do so, on the other hand, can appear IMHO as deliberate
rudeness.
Martin.
