Having spent the weekend fighting off a nasty fibro flare and watching 
bits of The Muppet Show on YouTube, I am reminded that I have wondered 
for some times now whether the UK use of 'muppet' predates and was the 
inspiration for The Muppets, or whether it's come into use SINCE The 
Muppet Show.
