Well, admittedly in New Zealand, not the UK, my flat has a washer/dryer
front loader and a separate dryer. We absolutely loathe the front loader
combination - it's slow and you can't add a forgotten sock in five minutes
later.
The one time we tried the dryer aspect of the machine, when it had finished
running, our clothes were still fairly damp. Give me a top loader, a
washing line that gets plenty of wind and/or a separate dryer any day.
Fortunately, we have two of the three, so that mostly works out.
The reason we still use it is that it came with our flat and it saves us
having to buy new whiteware at this stage. It does the job, even if it's
not ideal.
