I thought that might be the case but my parents are personally conservative
in a number of ways. My parents and my grandmother thought it perfectly
reasonable to ask if I was involved with my housemate because I kept living
with him after moving house last. I think he'd be even more scared at that
idea, than I was dismayed. I'm also sure that his significantly older
parents consider it none of their business. They are still homphobic and
believe that married monogamy is the best for everyone. They still totally
do not understand if anyone does not want kids.
Admittedly if I sound bitter about it, it is because mum is emotionally
abusive and I have worked hard over the last few years to try and get over
that.
