I read both as a kid (actually, like most people on this list, I read 
everything, down to and including mayonnaise labels if absolutely nothing 
else was available), and enjoyed both at the time.  Not that much 
difference, so far as I could tell.  Frank and Joe were just as capable of 
getting in and out of tight spots and bamboozling the putative adults as 
Nancy was.
