I have been a fan of his work since reading Dead Cert in my early teens (because it had horses in). But I got the most recent book out of the library (Dead Heat) and found it totally unreadable. Couldn't finish it. Has anyone else noticed a steep decline in the quality of his writing isnce his wife died? Rachel Brevity, clarity and cups of tea
