Not necessarily.  It depends on which glands were infected.  The  mumps 
normally just infect the salivary glands.  It's only if the disease  spreads to the 
testes that sterility can result, and that doesn't always  happen.  About 30% 
of men who have mumps have it spread to other parts of  the body than the 
salivary glands.  Still, it's not a trivial disease in  any adult.  It can spread 
to mammary glands and ovaries, too.
