[LMB] The Spirit Ring, Chapters 1-3

We all seem to be waiting politely for somebody to start The Spirit Ring
discussion. So I propose we start this week with Chapters 1-3, with new
chapter discussions every Monday. I can send out reminder e-mails on Monday;
I'm on Pacific Time in the US, so if somebody from an earlier time zone
wants to take over that task that's fine with me.

I'll have some actual, you know, comments in a day or two when I've actually
_read_ the chapters. In the meantime, a comment about the cover. My
paperback edition has a drawing of a ring with a bearded man's face.
Compared to some of Lois's other covers, I'd say it's actually quite good.
